Top 30 Photographer Worldwide at This is Reportage
I’m very happy to share that this year I finished among the Top 30 Documentary Wedding Photographers in the World at This is Reportage. In the latest collection, I received both a Story Award and a Reportage Award with the unforgettable wedding of Inês and Miguel.
Their day was not only incredibly emotional, but also completely unique. It was the first time I photographed a wedding that naturally transformed into a full on Portuguese arraial, with open air celebrations, dancing, food, drinks and those unmistakable baile music vibes that make you feel like you’re in the middle of a traditional village festival. A perfect setting for documentary wedding photography, filled with real moments and genuine emotion.
For anyone who is not familiar with it, This is Reportage is one of the most respected international platforms dedicated to documentary wedding photography. It celebrates photographers who focus on honest storytelling and spontaneous moments instead of staged portraits. Every year thousands of photographers from around the world submit their work, and only a very small selection is awarded.
The Reportage Awards recognise strong individual documentary images that stand out for emotion, timing or storytelling impact.
The Story Awards highlight complete wedding narratives that tell a story of a wedding day. These are considered some of the most prestigious awards in the industry because they reflect consistency, creativity and the ability to document an entire day with authenticity.
Finishing the year in the Top 30 worldwide is an honour and a meaningful milestone. For couples, it is a sign that their story is captured with experience, care and a focus on genuine emotion. For me, it reinforces why I love photographing weddings in Portugal and beyond — the people, the energy, the emotion, the traditions and all the beautiful, unscripted moments that make each day unique.
